Robert Lee Skeen, 70, of Bellefontaine, died at 7:39 PM Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at Riverside Hospital, Columbus.

A son of the late Thomas Russell and Helen Margaret Kirkpatrick Skeen, he was born on May 28, 1939, in Bellefontaine. He was also preceded in death by a son Eurotis Russell Skeen.

On February 14, 1974, he married the former Betty LeFever in Russells Point and she survives, along with two daughters, Tammi Clerkin of New Smyrna Beach, Florida and Penny (Randy) Bechtel of Bellefontaine; two sons, Donald Lee (Vivian) Clevenger and John R. (Dawn) Skeen, both of Alabama; a brother, Jim (Karen) Skeen of Bellefontaine; two sisters, Judith (Donn) Patton of Belle Center and Peggy (Bill) LeFever of Huntsville; 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

The 1957 graduate of Lewistown High School was an Air Force Veteran, and member of the Hi-Point See Saws Square Dance Club. He also volunteered at Mary Rutan Hospital. He was an OTR driver and retired from Roadway Express.

He enjoyed his grandchildren and traveling.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, with Rev. A.W. Purdin officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 5, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial is in the Fairview Cemetery, Mutual.

The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the March of Dimes.
