Irma Alberta Pequignot, 89, of DeGraff, died at 3:45 AM Thursday, May 27, 2010, at Heartland of Urbana.
She was born in Shelby County on May 28, 1920, a daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Mary Alberta Baker Evans.
She married George A. Pequignot Sr. on December 18, 1937 in Indiana and he preceded her in death on February 7, 1979. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin Evans and a sister, Frances Gilliland.
Survivors include two sons, George A. (Sharon) Pequignot, Jr. of DeGraff, William Pequignot of Russells Point; three daughters, Helen Detwiler of Urbana, Agnes (Donald) Carter of Quincy, Shirley (William) Cornely of Worthington; two brothers, Omer Evans of Quincy, Donald Evans of DeGraff; three sisters, Leree Metz and Mary Lovett both of Sidney, and Ruth Howard of Piqua; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
A 1937 graduate of Pemberton High School, she was a homemaker, and she enjoyed reading, working in her yard, flowers, and all sports. She was a member of the Rum Creek United Methodist Church.
The Rev. Michael Stewart conducts a service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the Rexer-Riggin-Madden Funeral Home, DeGraff, where calling is from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2010. Burial is in the Cedar Point, Cemetery, Pasco.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society and American Diabetes Association.
