Passed away Friday, March 28, 2003 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. James was born July 3, 1924 in Texas Twp., MI the son of Ralph and Vesta (Claiborne) Glidden. James was a veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Paw Paw. On April 17, 1953 in Allegan, James was united in marriage to the former Sally J. Wyman who survives. Also surviving are 4 daughters, Nancy (Mark) Seymour of Pittsburgh, PA, Terri (Russ) Vermurlen of Grand Rapids, Barbara (Jay) Newhouse of Portage, Anne (Michael) Schanz of Decatur; son, Timothy (Beth Ann) Glidden of Kalamazoo; son, Michael (Cherri) Corning of Kalamazoo. 15 Grandchildren, 1 great-grandson; 3 sisters, Norma (Roy) Avery of Kalamazoo, Miriam Jonas, Ada (John) Nutt, both of Oshtemo; brother, Robert (Florence) Glidden of Oshtemo. James was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Glidden. Friends will be received Sunday 2-4 at the ADAMS Funeral Home, Paw Paw where services will be held Monday, March 31, 2003, at 11 am with Pastor Horace Turner, Officiating. Interment will be in Genesee Prairie Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church or the American Heart Association.
