Passed away Tuesday evening, Jan. 14, 2003 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, Kalamazoo. Butch was born February 21, 1924 in Cassopolis, MI the son of the late Lloyd and Minerva (Coker) Wilson. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Butch was employed by Budzen Cement Products in Paw Paw for 20 years and then 20 years by General Motors in Kalamazoo retiring in 1990. Butch was a member of the United Auto Workers Local #488 in Kalamazoo, loved playing cards and working in his yard. On Feb. 13, 1954 in Grand Rapids, MI, Butch was united in marriage to Hazel (Bradley) Ampey who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Edward (Joan) Bradley of Kalamazoo and William (Ann) Bradley of Marcellus; daughter, Connie Wilson of Plymouth, MN; 16 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 1 great great great grandchild; 4 sisters, Essie Ampey of Paw Paw, Ellen (Stewart) Warren of Paw Paw, Imojean (Willard) James of Cassopolis, MI, and Sussie (Donald) Rile of Oxford, OH; 3 brothers, Lloyd (Betty) Wilson Jr. of Oxford, OH, Albert Wilson of Fayetteville, NC and Jerry Wilson of Cassopolis, MI; many nieces and nephews. A daughter, Patricia Ann Gant, and 3 brothers preceded butch in death. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, 10 a.m. at the ADAMS Funeral Home, Paw Paw with Pastor Jessie Herron and Rev. Linda McDonald officiating. Inurnment with military honors will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery, Kalamazoo. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Rose Arbor Hospice. Following the committal service at Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery there will be a gathering of family and friends at the Paw Paw Lions Club at 1 p.m.
