Passed away Wednesday evening, March 19, 2003 at the V.A. Medical Center in Battle Creek. Dick was born April 7, 1926 in Chicago, IL the son of Gust and Theresa (Wysinski) Babin. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army as a Mortar NCO in the European Theater. He moved to Paw Paw from Chicago in 1969 and was a truck driver for Paw Paw Wine Distributors. He is a member of the American Legion, McGowan-Johnson Post #68, Paw Paw. On February 3, 1951 in Chicago, IL Dick was united in marriage to the former Dolores Knapp who survives. Also surviving are 3 daughters, Bonnie (Greg) Pardike, Diane (Robert) Lambert and Michele Babin all of Paw Paw; 5 grandchildren; sister, Barbara (Carl) Rohr of Paw Paw, many nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Leonard Babin. Family will receive friends Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the new location of the ADAMS Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Ave., Paw Paw. A memorial mass will be held Monday, March 24, 2003, 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Paw Paw. Inurnment of Cremains will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to Maple City Veterans Memorial Park or charity of choice.
