Passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo. Jo Ann was born August 29, 1941 in Detroit, MI the daughter of Ernest and Ethel (Shana) Pullen who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, Mark Bankston in 1986; granddaughter, Nicole Bankston in 1986 and a brother, Edgar Pullen in 1999. Jo Ann was a social worker for Van Buren County and helped establish the family planning clinic. She loved children, her family and sewing. Surviving are 2 daughters, Kathryn Pullen and Michele Slegel both of Paw Paw; 4 grandchildren, Tara Renee Pullen, Dustin Sturgis, Shawn Ritter and Nicholas Duell; 5 brothers, Ernest (Virginia) Pullen of Hemet, CA, Edward (Claudette) Pullen of CO; Robert (Jill) Pullen, Raymond (Grace) Pullen, Richard (Julie) Pullen all of Paw Paw; 6 sisters, Penny (Jim) Roberts of Lawton, Nancy (Richard) Terimi of Parchment, Linda (LeRoy) Carpenter of New York, Cheryl Hager of Texas, Susan Burns of Paw Paw, and Barbara (John) Hunt of Allegan; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Saturday, 9-11 a.m. at the ADAMS Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral service will be held Saturday, March 15, 2003, 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
