WILKINSON, Glen “Bob” Jr.

Passed away Saturday evening, June 28, 2003 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, Kalamazoo. Bob was born January 3, 1928 in Kalamazoo the son of the late Dr. Glen and Louise (Olds) Wilkinson Sr. He was a veteran of World War II and Korea serving in the U.S. Army. Bob was a registered land surveyor and was employed as a Construction Analyst for the Grand Rapids Office of Housing and Urban Development retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Paw Paw, and was a member of the Church Building Committee. He was also a member of the Paw Paw Volunteer Fire Department and Past President of the Eagle Lake Paw Paw Association. Bob served on the Antwerp Township Planning Commission, the Antwerp Township Review Board and the Antwerp Township Zoning Board. He is a member and Past Trustee of the Paw Paw Eagles Aerie #4310. On October 29, 1955 in Hartford, MI Bob was united in marriage to the former Ruth Renwick who survives. Also surviving are 5 daughters, Tina (Craig) Ernsberger of Granger, IN, Teri (Dan) Ikehara of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Tami (Scott Hickmott) Eggert of Paw Paw, Mary (Lynn) Luth of Decatur, and Ann Wilkinson of Paw Paw; son, Glen ”Bob” (Jan Fischer) Wilkinson, III, of Paw Paw; 15 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara (Joe) Spracio of New Jersey. Family will receive friends Thursday, evening, 6-8 p.m. at the ADAMS Funeral Home, Paw Paw where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Paw Paw. Interment with military honors will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Paw Paw. Memorial contributions may be made to Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, Kalamazoo or the Paw Paw St. Vincent DePaul Society.

It was my privilege to have served with Glen on the Antwerp Planning Commission these last couple of years. We were all very surprised to learn of his passing, as he never mentioned a word to us about his illness. We will miss his insight and candor, and his knack for paying attention to detail without overlooking the big picture. Deb Driscoll
