Passed away Friday evening August 22, 2003 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw. Bonnie was born February 17, 1921 in Kendall, MI the daughter of the late Stephen Z. and Daisy May (Hoover) Green. She was a graduate of Gobles High School and was a legal secretary for Adams Law Office in Paw Paw, retiring in 1988. She was an active member of the Lawrence Bible Church, where she was secretary-treasurer and served her church faithfully for many years. She was chairperson for Miss Lawrence pageant for several years and served on the Blossomtime Festival Committee. Bonnie was an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing golf, an activity she began after she retired. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She seldom missed an activity or sports event in which they were involved. She was united in marriage to Rex E. Allen on June 9, 1956 in Kendall, MI. He preceded her in death on August 15, 2000. She was also preceded in death by 5 brothers, Azel, Philip, Chester, Howard and Stephen (Pat) Green; a beloved grandson, Brett Mansfield; step-daughter, Sue Ann (Allen) Crawford. Surviving are 3 children, Donita (Glen) Keeley, Sally (Jerry) Mansfield, Donald (Bonnie) Messinger, and step-son, James (Dee) Allen . Also surviving are grandchildren, Glen (Deb) Keeley III, Teresa (Rick) King, Michelle Keeley, Brian (Melissa) Keeley, Sarah Keeley, Kathy (Charles) Card, Keith Mansfield, Michael (Deann) Messinger, Daniel Messinger, Megan Messinger and Amanda Messinger; grandson, William Crawford Jr.; granddaughter, Vicki Crawford; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandchildren; brother, Francis Green; son-in-law, William Crawford Sr.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Family will receive visitors Monday, August 25 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the ADAMS Funeral Home in Paw Paw. Funeral services will be held at the Lawrence Bible Church, 350 S. Paw Paw St. Tuesday, August 26 at 11 a.m., Pastor Donald Miller officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.
