Passed away Sunday morning, August 31, 2003 at LakeView Community Hospital, Paw Paw. John was born June 23, 1914 in Chicago, IL the son of Roman and Stella Genge. He was employed by Continental Can Company in Chicago for over 40 years retiring in 1976. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Paw Paw and the Knights of Columbus, St. Augustine Aquainas Council # 1089 in Chicago. On May 8, 1943 John was united in marriage to the former Lottie E. Domino who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Barbara (Phillip) Martello of Paw Paw; 2 sons, Kenneth (Judy) Genge of Shorewood, IL and Richard (Shirley) Genge of Oak Park, IL; 6 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by 4 brothers, and 2 sisters. A memorial mass will be held Thursday, Sept. 4th, 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Paw Paw with Rev. Fr. Robert F. Creagan celebrant. Inurnment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Paw Paw. Memorial contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation. Arrangements by the ADAMS Funeral Home, Paw Paw.
