Passed away Wednesday morning, Oct. 8, 2003 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. Jessie was born November 22, 1920 in Decatur, Michigan the daughter of the late Hans and Kristina (Rasmusson) Christensen. She was employed at Montgomery Wards retiring in 1983. On October 7, 1941 in Decatur, Michigan, Jessie was united in marriage to Omer Fitzsimmons, Jr. who preceded her in death on January 30, 2000. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jeff Somsel in 1964. Surviving are a son and spouse, Thomas and Eula Fitzsimmons; 2 daughters, Carolyn Somsel of Vicksburg and Judith (Joseph) Foltman of Caledonia, IL; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 2 sisters, Louise Morris of Milburg, MI and Elsie Vantzelfde of Portage; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Thursday, 6-8 p.m. and Friday 2- 4 & 6-8 p.m. at the ADAMS Funeral Home, Paw Paw, where funeral services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. with Rev. Tom,Carolyn and Judy. This raw and painfull moment in our lives will be over soon. Please believe me when I say I just couldn't be there as it seems just yesterday that mom left us. Perhaps they are playing cards or talking about all their mutual friends. I will miss Jessie alot. Shauna

Tom, Sis, and Judy, please accept our deepest sympathy in your loss of Jessie. I have many fond memories of my times spent in Mattawan with my grandparents and your family. I will always remember going on the paper route with Judy and your mom driving us in the car. I will always remember when Judy had hepatitis and had to stay in bed when your mom and dad had to carry her to the bathroom. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your families.
