Passed away Thursday morning, November 6, 2003, at LakeView Continuing Care Center, Lawton with his family at his side. Howard was born October 16, 1917 in Lakeville, IN. the son of the late Charles and Eva (Blakely) Springman. He was employed by the Bendix Corp as a powerhouse engineer until his retirement in 1974. In Rochester, New York in 1937, Howard was united in marriage to the former Betty Jane Allen who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Fred (the late Kazumi) Springman of Mishawaka, IN and Curtis (Shirley) Springman of Springfield, TN; 3 daughters, Carole (Bill) Crane of Mishawaka, IN, Linda (Edward) Jors of Indianapolis, IN and Renea (David) Cotnoir of Paw Paw; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 2 great great Grandchildren; sister, Adeline Klarke of South Bend, IN; several nieces and nephews. Howard was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Family will receive friends Saturday, 12 noon to 2 p.m. at the ADAMS Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Rev. C. William Weis officiating. Interment will be in Chamberlain Cemetery, Porter Township. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
