Passed away Saturday evening, Dec. 13, 2003 at the home of her daughter. Lydia was born Nov. 8, 1917 in Ottawa, IL the daughter of the late Charles and Barbara (Bierut) Kowalski. Lydia’s love was for her family and cooking. On Dec. 16, 1936 in Lawton, Lydia was united in marriage to Delloyd L. Waite who preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1995. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Mary Pateck and Nellie Keselowski. Surviving are 9 children, Delcor (Valerie) Waite of Canton, MI, Patricia (Roger) Baker of Lawton, Ronald (Leony) Waite of Lawton, Randel (Denise) Waite of Portage, Harry (Jody) Waite of Lawton, Dennis Waite of West Virginia, Robert (Michelle) Waite of Lawton, Delloyd L. Waite, Jr. of Lawton and Richard Waite of Santa Monica, CA; 24 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Stella Witaszak of Detroit, MI; several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m. at the ADAMS Funeral Home, Paw Paw with Rev. Fr. Robert F. Creagan officiating. Inurnment of cremains in Oak Grove Cemetery, Lawton. Memorial contributions may be made to Macular Degeneration Research through the funeral home.
