Passed away Sunday evening, Dec. 28, 2003 at Metron of Bloomingdale. Frieda was born October 15, 1901 in Paw Paw the daughter of the late Wilber and Rose (Jordan) Sheldon. She was a graduate of Paw Paw High School class of 1920 and Western Normal Teachers College with her teaching certificate. Frieda taught in Kalamazoo, Allegan and Van Buren Counties before her retirement in 1970. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Paw Paw, the Rural Teachers Club, life member of the Michigan Education Association, member of the National Education Association, and A.A.R.P Chapter # 1509. On November 25, 1925 in Paw Paw, Frieda was united in marriage to Charles C. Doty who preceded her in death in Sept. of 1975. She was also preceded in death by 2 son, Jordan and Edward Doty; 3 sisters, Sarah Ballance, Neta Alexander and Gertrude Lipson. Surviving are a daughter, Josephine Reynard of Paw Paw; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Inurnment of cremains will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Paw Paw. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, Paw Paw. Arrangements are by the ADAMS Funeral Home, Paw Paw.

To the Doty Family: I graduated with Jordan and my deceased wife, Ethel Whittington with Ed. I spent time at Mrs. Doty's home when in school. The Doty's were also good friends with Carroll and Neta Whittington, my in-laws. My sincere condolences to the family.

Jo I have a lot of memories of your Mom, she took Aloah and I shopping for school clothes once,and I never forgot that trip to the mall in Indiana.She was a special lady.Sorry for your loss,Helen
