RUSHING, Henry L.

Formerly of Benton Harbor

Passed away Wednesday morning, February 18, 2004 at LakeView Continuing Care Center, Lawton. Hank was born May 7, 1912 in Imboden, AR the son of Logan and Sara (Barkman) Rushing. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater. He was a machinist for Gast Manufacturing Co, in Benton Harbor retiring in 1967. On December 12, 1933 in Hoxie, AR, Hank was united in marriage to the former Jessie I. Nettleton and recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Surviving are his wife Jessie of Lawton; daughter, Lynnetta I. Rushing of Columbia, SC; 3 sons, Norman (Virginia) Rushing of Paw Paw, William (Grace) Rushing of Decatur, MI and Logan (Martha) Rushing of Indianapolis, IN; 17 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Henry was preceded in death by a son, Frank D. Rushing; brother, Logan Rushing; 2 sisters, Alma Lockhart and Wilma Gass. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 2nd, 11:30 a.m. at the ADAMS Funeral Home, Paw Paw with Rev. William Bell of the Bento Heights Church of God, Benton Harbor officiating. Inurment in Fort Custer National Cemetery with military honors. Memorial contribution may be made to charity of ones choice. Share a memory or condolence on line at www.timeformemory.com/adams

We extent our deepest sympathy to the family of Henry. We had not seen Henry for a few years but have a lot of good memories of him when he worked at Gast and a few years after retirement.
