KETCHUM, Robert D.
Paw Paw
Passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at Allegan General Hospital. Robert was born in Almena on September 17, 1928 the son of Oliver and Cora Belle (Austin) Ketchum. He attended school at Paw Paw and later graduated from Kalamazoo Central in 1946. He worked for Sutherland Paper Company for 46 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and riding his four wheeler most of all his seven grandchildren. On May 27, 1950 he was united in marriage to the former Dorothy Jean Foster at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, Kalamazoo. Also surviving are 3 sons, Dennis (Deb) Ketchum of Comstock, Darryl Ketchum of Paw Paw, Kevin (Sue) Ketchum of Gobles; 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Keith and Kenneth and his eight year old son David in 1959. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. Friends will be received Thursday 6-8 pm with a vigil service at 7:30 pm at the ADAMS Funeral Home, Paw Paw. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated, Friday 10:30 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paw Paw, with Rev. Fr. Robert F. Creagan, Celebrant. I was so saddened to see that Mr. Ketchum had passed away. I just met him last Thursday at Metron. We had a very nice visit as he related his situation to me. We had a private communion service and he received the Eucharist. May he rest in peace with the Lord.
