Passed away Sunday afternoon, May 9, 2004 at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. Charles was born August 18, 1926 in Kalamazoo the son of Charles and Afton Alma (Phillips) Alfieri Sr. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater. He was employed by KVP Paper Co. for over 39 years in the shipping department retiring in 1986. He was a member of the American Legion, McGowan-Johnson Post # 68, Paw Paw and the Marcellus Veteran of Foreign Wars Post # 4054. On May 1, 1948 in Kalamazoo Charles was united in marriage to the former Connie V. Ide who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Carla (Dean) Hilton of White Pigeon; granddaughter, Rebecca Alfieri of Portage; 2 grandsons, Tony (Jenni) Hilton of Constantine, MI and Matthew Hilton of Northville, MI; sister, Ardith Fogg of Walhalla, MI; sister-in-law, Ruth Miller of Paw Paw; 2 brothers-in-law, Edward Ide of Bristol, TN and Ted Fugman of Oakwood, MI; several nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by a son, Richard C. Alfieri on March 11, 2004; brother, James E. Alfieri, Sr.; 2 sisters, Mary Rogers and Josephine Fugman. There will be no services or visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion, Post # 68, Paw Paw. Arrangements by the ADAMS Funeral Home, Paw Paw.
