WHAT A SHOCK TO READ THAT DODE HAD PASSED AWAY. I SAW HER ONCE IN AWHILE IN THE BIASTRO. SHE AND I WORKED TOGETHER AT NORTH ELEM. IN HARTFORD. I STARTED THE SCHOOL YEAR 1971-72 AS SEC. (JUST RETIRED IN 2001 AFTER 30 YEARS.) DODE TAUGHT 3RD GRADE IN NORTH ELEM. SHE WAS A WONDERFUL TEACHER, FRIEND, AND A CARING PERSON. SHE WAS GREAT FUN AND TRULY ENJOYED HER COMPANY. SHE WAS AWAYS CHEERFUL AND FULL OF FUN AND LOVED TO TEASE. SHE WAS LOVED BY MANY. SHE WILL BE MISSED BY MANY. PLEASE ACCEPT MY SYMPATHY AND PRAYERS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. JUDY JORDAN

Dode was a special gal. She used to get a basket and fill it with all kinds of candy. She would sit in the family room and as staff members would go by, she would say, "Sweets to sweet". Of course, we would stop and pick up a "sweet" or two. I would always tell her I loved her and give her a hug and kiss her cheek and she would tell me she loved me too. And then she always had a joke or put those big, black, ugly glasses on which were a hoot or how about those nasty looking teeth she found and had to wear!! She would never go to Bible Study here at White Oaks but whenever I sang, she always came to hear me. Often I would see her tears as I sang of the love of God. I will always remember her with love. I know she loved me too. I know she is with the Lord and in peace now.
