Passed away Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 2, 2005 at her home. Joanne was born August 5, 1937 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Joseph and Loretta (Lukas) Parent. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic High School in Chicago, IL, and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Paw Paw. On Dec. 27, 1957 in Downers Grove, IL. Joanne was united in marriage to Neville E. Fergeson who survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Robert A. Fergeson and Steven A. Fergeson both of Paw Paw; 3 daughters, Carol Ann Ross, Diane M. Coulson both of Paw Paw; and Sarah M. Hodgkins of Grand Rapids; 2 sisters, Nannette Carlson of IL and Patricia Mettler of Ohio ; brother, Michael Parent of IL; 10 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Thursday (Today) 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw with a vigil service at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Paw Paw with Rev. Fr. Robert F. Creagan celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Paw Paw. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Church, Paw Paw or Hospice of S. West Michigan. |

I"M FREE Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free I’m following the path God has laid you see. I took His hand when I heard him call I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way I found that peace at the close of day. If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss Oh yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full, I savored much Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and peace to thee God wanted me now; He set me free.

I am sorry to hear about your loss. I saw the obit. in the Kalamazoo paper. I have so many friends that have lost on or both parents. My mom passed away about 6 years ago.
