Passed away Monday morning, January 24, 2005 in the home of her son, Joseph Konieczka (Troy) in Collinsville, MS where she has resided since December 2002. Katherine was born August 9, 1921 in Mattawan, MI, daughter of the late Michael and Victoria (Chmura) Romanak. Katherine was a former employee of Welch Foods where she worked in the lab, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Holy Family Church in Decatur. On May 16, 1942 in Paw Paw, Katherine was united in marriage to Sylvester C. Konieczka who preceded her in death. She is survived by 3 daughters, Elaine (Ted) Gilleo of Maryville, TN, Victoria (Jim) Howell of Tarpon Springs, FL, Annette Hammond of Maryville, TN; Son, Joseph (Troy) Konieczka of Collinsville, MS; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister Susie Piffer of Paw Paw, MI; many nieces and nephews. A sister, Helen Harms and 6 brothers, Steve Romanak, Victor Romanak, Michael Romanak, John Romanak, Frank Romanak and Anthony Michlik preceded her in death. Family will receive friends Friday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where a vigil service will be held Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Decatur. Interment to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Paw Paw. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Alzheimer's Association, or charity of donor's choice.
