We first met Russ when we moved into our home on S.Lagrave. Russ and Joyce were the nicest on the block. Even though we were younger and new to the block, they treated us as we had lived there for years. Our kids looked up to Russ as a grandfather. He always made them feel special. Russ was always the first to offer help when he could. Russ and Joyce became our best friends. Whether they knew it or not. Russ was the first to come to us and tell us how nice we had fixed up the yard and gave us tips to keep it nice. When they moved from the neighborhood, it was like the clouds covered our home. The neighborhood just wasn't the same. We would see Russ every now and then at the store and the kids would let out a yell, " RUSS!" He would give us that big smile and warm handshake and even the rub on the head. Russ was one of a kind.
Our hearts and thoughts go out to Joyce and the rest of the family. We all will miss Russ's smile, his laugh and the feelings he gave us. We will never forget Russ!If you knew him,you couldn't forget him. He left you with a special feeling. We will always remember you Russ and you will ALWAYS be in our hearts!
