My wife and I just now returned from Florida to our home in South Carolina, and I was sincerely saddened to receive a note from my cousin Paul.
I graduated from Paw Paw High School in 1955 and worked with Bernard one summer helping him lay ceramic tile. My brother, Bob, and I very often saw Bernard and some of his brothers back in the 1950's. I will never forget Bernard's many kindnesses.

I'd known Bernard for as long as I can remember...a good friend of my parents, Elkins and Rose Pratt.HE was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word, and he eminated kindness. God bless him! I last saw him two years ago at a Sunday Mass at St. Mary's, while visiting Joyce Sitar McNally. I will send the obituary to my sister, Sister Maryanna Pratt, SSJ (a nun for 51 years; my sister Grace Martinez, living in Kalamazoo; and Paula Pratt, teaching for the last 9 years at a university in Ifrane, MOROCCO.My condolences to Wanda and her family, and also to Paul Swetish, whom I remember from my years at St. Mary's.
