My condolences to Mary and the Family. I met Horace while working at the Van Buren County Courthouse in 1973. I really did not get to know him well until about 1976 when I was to testify in a juvenile matter in Probate Court. Horace was the Defense Attorney, and I was the Juvenile's Probation Officer, Horace tore into me for not wearing a tie, basically berating me for showing a lack of respect for the Court. After the Hearing, I took him aside and called him an SOB. He agreed, and we became friends from that point on. We spent quite a bit of time together until I left town in 1986. I should also add that I met Mary Lou, my wife for the past twenty years in his office. I will always regard Horace as one of my friends. I will pray for him and his family.

To The Family,
I was saddened to hear of your loss, he was a great man, he helped my mother with a few legal problems, he seemed more of a friend than just a Lawyer to us. God Bless

Mary and children....Conn and I were so taken aback by the passing of Hoss. A wonderful lifetime of memories will guide you through this time and for now on. We shall be at the funeral home this eve to share some time with all of you. Unfortainately we shall not be able to attend the memorial service on Tuesday. It seems we never have time for the folks we care about as life keeps us so programed and so busy. We often talked about the times we have shared with you and Hoss over the years and all the memories were great. Until....love us two

Mary & family, I was sorry to hear of Horace's passing. I hadn't seen him since we both attended the Adams reunions in the late 1920's and 30's but have been aware of his career since that time, certainly one you can all be proud of. Sincerely, Jack & Louise Adams

Dear Mary: You two figure in the fond memories of my childhood in Paw Paw. Such a striking couple. I remember a lovely note Hoss wrote my family when Harry died. Very thoughtful and obviously heartfelt. Harry thought a great deal of him I know. Our sympathy to you and your family. Ann Blakely
