PORTER, Myron E. “Gene”
Bangor
Passed away Thursday, August 11, 2005 at home. Myron was born November 8, 1938 in Iowa the son of Lawrence and Ruby Porter. He was a pipe fitter & welder for Proctor & Gamble retiring in 1990. On August 9, 1958 in Chicago Myron was united in marriage to the former Sharon C. Frey who survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters, LaRaine (Paul) Richards of Chicago, Jennifer (Jeff) Schelberger of Chicago; 2 sons, John (Stacy) Porter of Paw Paw, Chris (Candy) Porter of Bangor; 13 Grandchildren, Cameron, Travis, Amanda, J.P., Tony, Jessica, Nick, William, Sammi, Abbie, Ryan, Marissa, and Jonah,; sister, Karen Sullivan; brother, Gary Mosher. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Dean Porter. Friends will be received Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the ADAMS Funeral Home, Paw Paw where services will be held Monday 10 am with Rev. Fr. Robert F. Creagan, Officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. |

My grandfather was more that just the ol grandpa you see occasionally and love because he's your grandpa... I loved my grandpa because he was my father... He was the one who stepped up to the plate in the absence of my dad... I thank God for that... My grandfather was a hero, an awesome family man, and the strongest person I've ever known... He was a comedian... He was the best husband to my grandmother... He was to me personally the best man in the world... It's hard for me to tell the world who much he meant to me, if you could read my heart it'd would be a lot more accurate... But I loved him... He's with God now... Running, breathing, no longer suffering... I'd say Rest In Peace, but I believe he's more alive now than ever... So Live In Peace Grandpa... I'll see you later... Love you... I'm still a "Grandpa's Boy"...
