I cannot say that I am fortunate enough to know Karen, except through brief conversation. However, by knowing her husband, I think I can infere a lot about her. I know that she was creative and giving. I know that she supported the freedom to try something new, fail, try again, and be dedicated to achieve the result desired. I know that she appreciated beauty and roses and hard work. I know that she loved the earth and the people on it. I believe she understood the amazing things we humans have learned throughout the ages. I believe she appreciated loyalty, undying love, and rock solid committment. I know these things because I knew her through her husband and for the type of man (creative, loving, integrity, intelligent) that she married. I know that everyone will know her through John, because she is as much a part of him as he is of her. Words fail my ability to express my condolences. My enduring love for a good friend will have to suffice over the coming years to say it for me. -Tom Stevens

Karen was our rock, she was the person we could all turn too and we did. She was the most caring, nurturing person. She truly was someone who always thought of others first and made us all feel special. She was a gentle soul.
