Passed away Wednesday morning, September 28, 2005 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, Kalamazoo. Jean was born April 24, 1926 in Paw Paw the daughter of the late George and Mary (Nash) Reits. Jean was a member of the Paw Paw-Lawton Order of Eastern Star # 257. She was employed by the Paw Paw Public Schools Transportation Department and was a member of the Van Buren County Retired School Personnel. On March 10, 1946 in Paw Paw, Jean was united in marriage to Frank Labadie who preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 1989. She was also preceded in death by, 3 brothers, Richard, Robert and Harold Reits; sister, Helen Pionke. Surviving are 4 sons, Ronald (Marilynn) Labadie of Weston, FL, Jerry (Martha) Labadie of Mattawan, Tom (Lisa) Labadie and Scott Labadie of Paw Paw; grandchildren, Lisa (Michael) Heartz of Toledo, OH, Brad (Melissa) Labadie of Ypsilanti, MI, Ben Labadie of Sterling Heights, MI, Chad (Valerie) Labadie of Kalamazoo, Linsey Labadie of Kalamazoo, Heather (Jon) Vore of Paw Paw, Casey, Katie, Faith, and Tommy Labadie all of Paw Paw; Great grandson, Gabriel Labadie of Ypsilanti; great granddaughter, Hannah Vore of Paw Paw; sister, Marguerite Treat of Paw Paw; brother, Bill (Cathy) Reits of Grand Rapids; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Mark Whittaker of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Paw Paw. Memorial contributions may be made to Rose Arbor Hospice Residence or Alzheimer’s Association.

I am sorry for your lose of Jean. To the family of Jean E. Labadie. I remember all the good times i had with her on the trip to band camp with the Paw Paw kids. She will be missed by many. Again sorry for your loss.
