My Dad Gordon Falan (The son of Kenneth and Rita Falan) was Wayne's cousin and though he was quite a bit younger It was pretty clear that he thought a lot of Wayne . Which is saying something Condolences.

I always thought Wayne to be a good man. A little coarse around the edges when he hollered at you but always with that little smile afterwards that let you know he liked you and was just making a point. I use to see Wayne occasionally and we always had good humorrous conversations about the past. He was always telling me "glory " stories about my brother back in the days when Wayne coached him on the football field. I will never forget him for the man he was. My condolences to his wife Evelyn and the rest of the family. He will surely be missed.

Mr. Falen was a wonderful person. Our family had the "Cadillac" connection. So as far as Wayne was concerned, we were all right. He took wonderful care of all three of our children throughout their high school years. He also took care of me on the golf league, you know, Cadillac people have to stick together. He'll always be in our thoughts.

a friend and mentor to all that he coached. He was very proud of all the men that went into the Michigan State Police from his school. I am sad this day.

Karen and I planned to be with the family and friends of Wayne on 10/22/05, but a Kunkel Family emergency has forced us to change plans. We are so pleased that he was able to attend the Champions & Legends Event to honor great CHS Football Teams of the past. His presentation at the reunion will have a lasting impression on all who attended. The players and Dick Young, a former CHS Coach, that played the last round of golf with Wayne are very touched by his passing. The calls, cards, and e-mails continue to come in from players, coaches, and others that "have a love of the Game", who met Wayne Falan for the first time, but will never forget him as he shared his final days with us. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you as you share his lasting memory. "Till we huddle-up again". Jack and Karen Kunkel

My sister, Joan, called me earlier this week to inform me of Coach Falan's passing. To Mrs Falan, Tom and Doug and the rest of the family, you have our deepest sympathies. Joan's call brought back a flood of old memories...all of them good. I ran track for Coach from 1970 through 1972 and if you were one of his Track guys, Coach closely followed you in all your other sports. At this time in his career he was coaching Wrestling and Track only. But having lived next door to Jerry Abnet, I knew all the ole' Wayne Bunn stories from...football and basketball to baseball and Track...and they were classics. Coach was a man's man and except for my Mom, he was by far the most influential person in my high school years. I still have a love for Track and attend the Penn Relays in Philadelphia annually. I used to send Coach the Penn Relays program book filled with the autographs of the Villanova womens Distance Medley Relay teams. I wrote Coach a letter sometime in the mid 80's telling him how much he meant to me in high school and he called me to talk about it. Until then, I don't think he ever knew how important he was to me. I'm happy I had the opportunity to tell him. Thanks and good bye Coach...I hope to see you again some day.

We are saddened to hear of Wayne's passing.I had just seen him at the Cadillac Football Celebration and shared memories of Ogidaki with him.My first visit to Ogidaki was with Wayne,Steve Siddall, and John Royce.Wayne was a delightful guy with a zest for life that was contagious!!I'll never forget his instructions for taking a sauna...get very hot(after many hits of water on rocks),then walk across the tracks to the ice-cold creek and douse your body with buckets of that water!!All this with a wry smile that implied that if you DIDN'T follow suit, you were a wimp!! So I did,and after nearly 35 years of Ogidaki saunas,we still chuckle at Wayne's instructions...and his wonderful attitude about life. I am glad to have known him and that he had such a long and worthy life in the education of young people. With deepest sympathy, Doug and Donna Nelson,Cadillac

Evelyn, Want to express our thoughts and prayers with you and your family. I just happened to speak to Artie last Friday and she told me Wayne had passed away. I am sorry we will not be at the memorial service as we will be out of town. We think of our friends often in Paw Paw and still remain in contact with Cathy and Dale Sommerfelt as with Barb Ostrander and Artie Mitchell. All our love. Dennis and Linda Cogswell
