Passed away Monday, October 17, 2005 at his home. Reuben was born March 13, 1940 in Corinth, Mississippi the son of the late Rubin and Virginia (Jenkins) Smith. He was foreman at North American Aluminum Corp retiring in August of 2001. Reuben was a member of the NRA, the American Woodworker and was a handyman with woodworking and cars. On October 12, 1963 in Mattawan, Reuben was united in marriage to Vivian Annette Clippinger who preceded him in death on February 7, 1996. He was also preceded in death by2 brothers, Bob and Tom Smith and a sister Betty Beck. Surviving are a daughter, Suzanne (Hassan) Alsakha of Paw Paw; 2 grandsons, Ali and Zaki Alsakha of Paw Paw; brother, Jack Smith and a sister Cathy Smith both of Kalamazoo. Family will receive friends Friday evening, 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral service will be held Saturday 2 p.m. with Rev. William Chapman officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mattawan. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

Susie I am very sorry to hear of your loss. Though I did not see him as often as I would have liked, your Dad was a very good friend to me. I am glad that I did get to visit with him before I left for Fla. I even told him if he had some time to pull his bike down and come visit. We would be able to get some riding in like the old days. I want to Thank You for contacting me, I wish I had been up there to help in any way I could have. I will miss your Dad.
