Passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at Metron of Bloomingdale. Carolyn was born March 14, 1925 in Anderson, Indiana the daughter of the late Harry E. and Leora M. (Slater) Hartley. She began her working carrer as an operator for General Telephone in Paw Paw and then a Lab Technician at Knouse Foods before her retirement. She then worked for the Clothes Basket in Paw Paw until 2000. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Paw Paw. On June 15, 1946 in Lafayette, Indiana, Carolyn was united in marriage to William Carleton Gasser who preceded her in death on September 24, 2002. Surviving are a sister, Mary Lou Johnson of Pinellas Park, FL; several nieces and nephews and several very loving and close friends. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, 11 a.m. at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan with Rev. Fr. Joseph Neiman of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Paw Paw officiating.
