RACHAR, Clarence A.

Passed away Monday morning, Feb. 13, 2006 at Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo. Clarence was born July 15, 1929 in Mount Forest, Ontario, Canada the son of Clarence Calvin and Jenny Mae (Lewis) Rachar. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. Clare was employed by Consumers Power Company for 36 years as an energy conservation manager retiring in 1991. He was a member of the American Legion in Kalamazoo, was on the Board of Directors for Goodwill Industries in Kalamazoo and loved woodworking. On August 17, 1985, in Paw Paw, Clare was united in marriage to Louise M. (Byrd) Mihelich who survives. Also surviving are 7 children, Constance Rachar of Flint, MI, Charles Rachar of Wayland, MI, Kenneth (Theresa) Byrd of Livonia, MI, Cheryl (Harold) Higgins of Livonia, MI, Dianne (Ronald) Goecke of Washington, MI, Michelle (Bob) Sturdevant of Kalamazoo, MI and Scott (Sue) Byrd of Farmington Hills, MI; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Kay (John) Stallard of London, Ontario, Canada; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Friday 5-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. with Rev. Horace Turner of the First Baptists Church, Paw Paw officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Paw Paw. We will miss our friend and neighbor,Clair. He was always willing to help. Sorry we will not be able to attend the funeral due to my ill health.
