Passed away Wednesday morning, May 17, 2006 at his home. Don was born April 3, 1925 in Batavia, IL the son of the late Dale and Emma (Conrad) Salisbury. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theater as a Seebee. He was employed as a supervisor by the Lyon Metal Company in Aurora, IL retiring in 1984. Don was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Paw Paw, was a Boy Scout leader at St. Mary’s Church for Boy Scout Troop # 66 and a life member of McKinley-Wilson-Hall V.F.W. Post # 2532, Paw Paw. He loved gardening, camping and most of all his family. On May 15, 1948 in Lordsburg, New Mexico, Don was united in marriage to Joice G. German who survives. Also surviving are 6 children, Craig (Brenda) Salisbury of Kalamazoo, Deeona Boyer (Dave) of Portage, Steven Salisbury of Paw Paw, Kevin Salisbury of Aurora IL., Tina (Chris) Boyer of Gobles, Melody (Stephen Jr.) Tomac of Kalamazoo; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; dear friends John and Dottie Ruiter of Paw Paw and many other dear and close friends. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Family will receive friends Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Paw Paw with Rev.Fr. Robert F. Creagan Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery Paw Paw with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to Borgess Visiting Nurse and Hospice Services, Kalamazoo.

joice, so sorry to hear about don. i have thought of you often over the years especially the times we spent working at north aurora manor. may god be with you.

Deeona, I remember going camping with your family one summer. We went to the Black Hills and to the State Fair. It was a great time. I'm sorry for your loss.
