Passed away Monday morning, June 12, 2006 at White Oaks in Lawton. Shirley was born February 6, 1922 in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late John and Virginia (Baird) Stubenvoll. Shirley was employed at Duo-Tang Products in Paw Paw and later at the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department as a corrections officer. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert H. Carpenter in July of 1980; sister, Elizabeth Pietrowski and a brother, Charles Mitchell. On December 21, 1982 in Paw Paw, Shirley was united in marriage to Edward K. Fuhrmann who survives. Also surviving are a son, Robert W. (Trish) Carpenter of Vicksburg, 2 daughters, Jeane (Dave) Clarke and Nancy (Kurt) Kreiner both of Los Angeles CA; 2 step-sons, Edwin (Meloney) Furhmann of Round Lake Beach, IL and Harry Furhmann of Charlotte, NC; 5 grandchildren; brother, Lawrence (Sue) Mitchell of Macy Lake, IN; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Thursday evening 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw. Funeral services will be held Friday, (June 16) 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw with Rev. Mark Whittaker officiating. Interment to follow in Wildey Cemetery, Paw Paw. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw.

Aunt Shirley will live on in our hearts --- we will always remember her beautiful smile and positive spirit --- we are sorry for your loss! We will miss her --- God must have need another angel and brought her home! We are with you in spirit as she is laid to rest.
