Passed away Saturday afternoon, July 15, 2006 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. Rose Marie was born Jan. 29, 1930 in Glen Carbon, IL. the daughter of the late Fred and Victoria (Skubik) Matejec. Rose Marie was the receptionist and dental assistant for Dr. Ivan Olsen, DDS, Paw Paw for 20 years until her retirement in 1987. Rose Marie was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Paw Paw and loved playing Bingo, enjoyed and loved her family very much. On October 5, 1949 in Angola, IN. Rose Marie was united in marriage to Billy Torrance who preceded her in death on November 13, 1988. She was also preceded in death by a son, John C. Torrance in 1999. Surviving are 2 daughters, Deborah Ann (Michael) Sutherland of Niles, MI and Beth Louise (Robert) McVeigh of Paw Paw; son, Wilfrid “Bill” (Dona) Torrance, II of Winnetka, CA; 4 grandchildren, Laurel and Bree Sutherland, Erin McVeigh and Kathryn Piecyk; great granddaughter, Sophia Rose Piecyk; 2 brothers, Robert Matson of Springboro, OH and John Matejec of Tulsa, OK; sister, Clara Mack of Roscommon, MI; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where a vigil service will be held Thursday evening, 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Paw Paw with Rev. Fr. Robert F. Creagan celebrant. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Church, Paw Paw. The family wishes to thank Bronson Hospital and employees for their kindness and compassion while our mother was ill and in their care.

Rose was loved by all who knew her. Her winning personality won her the respect of us all. Joy & I and many patients have mentioned so often how her humming soothed anxiety in the office. We wish to express our sympathy to the family in the loss of our close friend. Sincerely, Ivan Olsen
