Passed away peacefully Monday morning July 24, 2006 at Lakeview Community Hospital, Paw Paw. Hazel was born Sept. 10, 1915 in Paw Paw the daughter of the late William Merle and Ada P. (Russell) Ampey. She was a graduate of Paw Paw High School Class of 1933. She served as a trustee on the Board of directors of LakeView Community Hospital, Paw Paw and was employed by Desert Gems in Paw Paw for several years. On Feb. 13, 1954 in Grand Rapids, MI, Hazel was united in marriage to Ivan ”Butch” Wilson who preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 2003. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Russell Ampey. Surviving are a sister, Maxine Richardson of Washington, DC; 2 sons, Edward (Joan) Bradley of Kalamazoo and William (Anne) Bradley of Marcellus; daughter, Connie Wilson of Plymouth, MN; daughter-in-law, Barbara Bradley of Paw Paw; 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchild; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Thursday evening 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held Friday 11 a.m. with Pastor Larry Herron officiating. Inurnment of cremains will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery, Kalamazoo at 2 p.m. Hazel’s wishes were that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Dortha Ampey Trust for a scholarship at Paw Paw High School.
