Went to be with his Lord on Tuesday morning, October 10, 2006 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo. Chester was born Dec. 11, 1925 in Chicago, IL the son of the late Joseph and Agatha (Nemes) Nieroda. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army with the Occupation Forces in Japan. He was employed by the Allied Paper Company in Kalamazoo for over 30 years retiring in July of 1988. He was a member of the Believer’s Fellowship Church in Coloma and loved traveling, gardening and working outdoors. On November 17, 1951 in Paw Paw Chester was united in marriage to Irene Segalla who survives. Also surviving are 4 sisters, Sophie Piecyk of Lawton, Janice Nieroda of Surprise, AZ, Lonetta Nieroda of Chicago, IL and Theresa Andrle of Des Plains, IL; 2 sisters-in-law, Armida Bortolon of Il and Dee (Slim) Wegeler of Mattawan; many nieces and nephews. Chester was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Eleanore Coudek. Family will receive friends Saturday 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Mark Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mattawan. Memorial contributions may be made to Rose Arbor Hospice.
