ALLEN, Shirley Ann
Paw Paw
Passed away Thursday morning, November 2, 2006 at the age of 70. She was born February 9, 1936 in Corry, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Theodore and Genieve (Peterson) Danczyk, the youngest of siblings, John, Theodore and Mary (Danczyk) Carpp. As a teenager, she was raised by Charles (deceased) and Judith Steepleton and their daughter, Carol (Robin) Steepleton-Campbell who survive. While attending Lawrence High School, she met her future husband, Thomas Ray Allen (deceased). They were married September 4th, 1955. Shirley worked at Michigan Quality Frozen Foods, Fruit growers Packaging Company, and retired from Knouse Foods Co-op in Paw Paw. She is survived by her daughter, Diana (Allen) Byrne and husband Michael, her son Stephen Allen and his wife Susan Roothaan, grandsons, Jason and Ryan Byrne; granddaughter, Stephanie Roothaan; great granddaughter, Arrianna Monetta; and a sister, Mary (Danczyk) Carpp. A memorial services will be held Friday 2 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw, with Rev. Tom Abbott of the First Presbyterian Church, Paw Paw officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Van Buren County Historical Society. |

I did not know Mrs. Allen personally but I am a co-worker and friend of her son, Steve Allen. I am saddened at his and his family's loss and want them to know that we, his Texas family, care and mourn with him.
