Passed away Thursday afternoon, Dec. 14, 2006 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. Sandy was born April 1, 1950 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Elton and Eleanor (Mast) Goswick. She was a graduate of Mattawan High School Class of 1968. She was employed by Mattawan Schools as a school aide in the Middle School. She was a Past President and Past Secretary of the Mattawan School Alumni Association. She was active in St. John Bosco Catholic Church, Mattawan with the St. Rita Guild, CCD Program, Choir and Parish Council. She loved crafts, traveling and above all her grandchildren. On March 16, 1968 in Paw Paw, Sandy was united in marriage to George J. Koppers Jr. who survives. Also surviving are 3 children, Julie (David) Ritter, George (Peggy) Koppers III, and Erin Koppers; 6 grandchildren, David Ritter Jr., Brittany and Matthew Teets, Jeffery, Maddie Rose and Paige Kathlene Koppers; father, Elton L. Goswick; 2 brothers, Elton “Jay” (Romilda) Goswick and Gary Goswick; 2 sisters, Ellen “Sue” Hallan and Jan (Bob) Markillie; half-sister, Bernadette (Lee) O’Chap; many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles; special friend Jaci Paddock. She was preceded in death by her mother, Eleanor Goswick; 2 brothers, Patrick and Michael Goswick and a sister, Myra (Micki) Killean. Family will receive friends Sunday 2-7 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where a vigil service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, 11 a.m. at St. John Bosco Church, Mattawan. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Mattawan. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mattawan Education Foundation.

I considered Sandy a very good friend. I'm just finding out about this terriable thing as I live out of state. She will be greatly missed. My thoughts go out to her children, grandchildren and Jaci. Such a sad day!

Mrs. Koppers was a very loved person at Mattawan Middle School. She was loved by all and will never be forgotten by us students! I know that she is very missed and hopefully is happy!

Sandy and I were friends from grade school and beyond. She was a very generous and loving person. She was very special to all our family and will be greatly missed.

I am so sorry to hear about Sandy. She was a great person, always said something to make you laugh. She was a friend for over 40 years. May all the good memories help the family during this time.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Sandy's death and know her absence will leave a big hole in your family circle. We knew each other thru school both graduating from Mattawan and working there as well. She spoke of her grandchildren often - they were a joy for her as I'm sure you already know. We had so much fun together at St. John Bosco and in the St. Rita's Guild! Sandy could always be counted on to pitch in and have a lot of laughs doing it. My sympathies to all.
