Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of loss and sadness. "Uncle Jr." will be greatly missed here in Lakeland. He was the most pleasant, kind and gentle man we have ever known. How blessed you were to have such a wonderful person as a father, grandfather and uncle.
We and our children loved to be around Jr., because he was so easy to converse with and took time to listen. He always showed a sincere interest in all of us. We surely have appreciated any time that we were able to spend with him, and we have certainly been blessed by knowing him. We will miss him greatly.
Love and prayers,
Kevin, Gayle, Harrison, Marshall and Colleen McVeigh

My fondests memories of Jr will always include his warm smile. In the years I've known him when I recall any memory with him in it I always think of his warm smile and how welcome he made you feel. I cannot think of him without being hit with the memory of his brilliant smile and how happy and content he was in life.

It is with my sincerest condolences that I pass on my thoughts of grief and sorrow over the passing of your father, Jr. I was shocked to hear of his passing as he was so full of life and hope.
I have not been around a lot over the past 14 years due to my military career requirements, but every time I got to Lakeland to visit my mother, Judy, as well as other family members, I also got to see Jr. His positive attitude and good time charm always amazed me and made an impression upon me that I try to utilize everyday.
I know he will be missed by many here, but now he is with his other family above in eternal happiness. Remember, he will always be watching, providing protection, wisdom and guidance to his family here, listening whenever he is called upon.
May God bless you now and always; Thinking of all of you always!
