Eugene H. Nielsen Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1928 - 2007 Age: 78 NIELSEN, Eugene H. Grand Junction Went to Heaven peacefully on Sunday evening, April 8, 2007 at his home in the presence of his family. Gene was born Nov. 14, 1928 in Columbia Township, MI the son of the late Harry and Lurah (Niles) Nielsen. Gene was a janitor at the Van Buren County Court House until his retirement. He was a member of the Bloomingdale United Methodist Church and a 32 degree member of the Bloomingdale/Hudson Lodge #221 F&AM. On June 27, 1953 in Bangor Gene was united in marriage to Joan Claire Mayer who survives. Also surviving are 3 daughters, Denise (Jim) Hall of Grand Junction, Linda Sprague of Paw Paw and Robin (Larry) Williamson of Bloomingdale; son, Paul (Amy) Nielsen of Paw Paw; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim Nielsen. As per Gene’s request there will be no visitation or service as cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be made to South Haven Area Hospice, P.O. Box 990, South Haven, MI 49090. Arrangements are by the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw.

I learned of Eugene's passing from our cousins Ray & Joyce Melvin. I had hoped that we could visit one day soon and talk of our parents and what time has brought since we last saw each other over 50 years ago. My sincerest condolences to all of you whom I have never met. I'd love to stay in touch with my Nielsen family. Joann
