Paw Paw
Passed away suddenly Wednesday afternoon, December 12, 2007. Dick was born February 9, 1931 in Paw Paw the son of the late Elsworth B. and Julia A. (Kline) Coulson. Dick was a retired veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Air Force. Along with his son Frank he was a welder for Prab Conveyer in Kalamazoo for over 20 years until his retirement in February of 1993. He was also a former manager of the DeVan Mobile Home Park. He loved fishing, taking care of his grandchildren and visiting with his many friends. He was an active member of the American Legion, McGowan-Johnson Post # 68, Paw Paw. On June 21, 1952 in Paw Paw Dick was united in marriage to the former Muriel L. Johnson who preceded him in death on February 4, 1992. Besides his parents and wife he was also preceded in death by a brother, Elsworth R. Coulson; sister, Isabelle Mroczek, grandson Shawn Coulson. Surviving are 5 daughters, Julia L. (John) Chance of Benson, NC, Judith L. (Walter) Ritter of Paw Paw, Jody L. (Paul) Guritz of Otsego, Cindy K. (Abdelhadi) Altheeb of Ann Arbor and Shirley R. (fiancé Richard) Coulson of St. Joseph; 2 sons, Frank E. (Nancy) Coulson of Paw Paw and Randall J. Coulson of Paw Paw; 22 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Joseph H. (Reli) Coulson , Caldwell, ID; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held Monday 11 a.m. with Rev. Mark Whittaker officiating. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Paw Paw with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House.

Jody,Frank,Judy and Families...So sorry for your loss. Although it has been many years since I last seen him I remember what a wonderful sweet, sweet man your Dad was. I'm sure he will be missed very much...my heart goes out to you all.

He was always there to help someone in need. He cared greatly for his children and grandchildren. He will be so missed. Sapphire and Satara will never forget there grandpa. He always treated me as a friend and was like a father figure to me. My condolences to the rest of the family.
