Nellie passed away Sunday evening, March 9, 2008 at Lakeview Continuing Care Center, Lawton. She was born Oct. 6, 1915 in Kalamazoo the daughter of the late Mattehus and Adrianna VerHaagen. Nellie was a life long member of the Almena United Methodist Church and an active member of the choir and a director of the church. She loved playing the organ, gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting, animals and vacation camping up north. On June 16, 1942 in Kalamazoo, Nellie was united in marriage to Edward James Reidt who preceded her in death in 1986. Surviving are Twin children, Paul (Glenda) Reidt of Paw Paw and Paula (Jim) Miles of Lawton; grandchildren, Jeri Kohlert, Mark Kniss, Tracy Butcher, Angela Reidt, Paulette Sweet, Paul Reidt, Heather Miles, Jamie Miles, and Holly Miles; great grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, Jesse, Ezekiel, Ezra, McKenzie, Marisa, Mason, Gabriel, Amirah, Abbie, Faisal and Madison; sister, Gladys Steward of Kalamazoo. Family will receive friends Wed. 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m. with Pastor Donna Keyte of the Almena United Methodist Church officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Assoc. or Bronson Rehab and Nursing Center, Lawton.
