CUSUMANO, Catherine
Paw Paw
Catherine passed away Sunday evening, March 9, 2008 at White Oaks in Lawton. She was born July 17, 1907 in Cinisi, Italy the daughter of the late Foro and Vinzenzina (Mine) Misuraca. Catherine moved to the US in 1925 and to Paw Paw in 1944. She owned and operated Cathys Ready to Wear Dress Shop for 2 years and the Hamburg Haven restaurant for 3 years. She then opened and operated Cathys Drapery shop until her retirement in 1972. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paw Paw, Lakeview Hospital Auxiliary and the Paw Paw Lawton Lawrence and Mattawan Senior citizens where she loved to play cards. On April 14, 1929 in New York City she was united in marriage to John Joseph Cusumano who preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 1975. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Antonia, Dominic and Frank Misuraca and a sister Vinzenzina. Surviving are a son and spouse Charles and Norma Cusumano of St. Petersburg, Fl; 2 grandsons, Robert (Molly) Cusumano of Paw Paw and Dave (Dale) Cusumano of Charlotte, NC; 2 great granddaughters, Kylie Cusumano and Nicolette Lynn Cusumano; great grandson, Alexander Cusumano; niece, Josephine Howard of Paw Paw; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon 4-7 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where a vigil service will be held Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paw Paw. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Paw Paw. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church, Paw Paw, Hospice of Southwest Michigan or White Oaks.
