Russell passed away Wednesday April 30, 2008 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. Russell was born April 10, 1934 in Decatur, the son of Carl and Alice Buchanan. He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. He enjoyed bowling and baseball. Surviving are his loving companion Daisy Hoffman of Paw Paw; 2 sons, Scott Buchanan of Paw Paw and Ron Buchanan of Florida; 5 daughters, Brenda Buchanan and Sara Gladysz both of Paw Paw, Cathy Buchanan and Teresa Munn both of Kalamazoo; and Linda Buchanan; 12 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; a brother Leroy Buchanan and a sister Norma Lee; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Norman and Paul Buchanan; and a sister Rosie Hodges. Cremation has taken place. Family will receive friends Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw, where services will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Joe Spackman officiating. Military honors to follow.
