Naomi went to her heavenly home on Saturday afternoon, June 21, 2008 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo. She was born September 25, 1923 in Kalamazoo the daughter of the late Harold and Frances (Barnes) Born. Naomi grew up on the east side of Kalamazoo and graduated from Kalamazoo Central High school in 1941. On April 24, 1942 in Kalamazoo Naomi was united in marriage to Clyde J. Hunt who preceded her in death in 1991. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jim Born and a sister, Jannice Deaneau. Naomi and Clyde moved to a grape farm near Lawton in 1951 and together they worked the grapes and raised hogs for many years. She was employed by Dir Chevrolet for many years and retired from there. A women of faith she was a member of the Congregational Church in Mattawan, and was a member of Farm Bureau. Naomi was an avid reader and her hobbies were cross word puzzles, working in the yard, sewing, and cooking. She loved her family very much and measured her friends by quality not quantity. Surviving are 3 children, Jim (Suzie) Hunt, Ron (Barb) Hunt and Roberta (John) Kole all of Lawton; 6 grandchildren, Bryon (Sarah) Hunt, Kevin Hunt Michael Hunt and Coleman Hunt all of Lawton, Katrina and Karrie Kole of Kalamazoo; great grandchildren, Brady, Hunt, Haylee Hunt and Allison Centilla; sisters in law, Mary Lou Born, Mildred Hunt, Latona Hunt and Marion (Bill) Johnson; brother-in-law, Leo (Betty Hunt; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Tuesday 5-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home Paw Paw. A graveside service will be held Wednesday 1 p.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery, Mattawan which family and friends are welcome to attend with a luncheon to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
