Marv & I just returned from a vacation in FL and learned that Debbie passed away while we we were gone. We are so very sorry to the entire family, and can only imagine the pain you are feeling. Debbie was such a bright light, and no matter where you saw her or how busy she was, she always flashed that smile and stopped to chat a moment. She knew our daughter worked for Disney, and never failed to ask about her and how her life was going....she was just a sweet, caring, and kind person. She will be missed so much and we will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers as you have to move forward with your life now with her gone....our hearts are so sad for you. Please give our best to Jim & to Carol...God bless you all. Love, Marv & Linda Imus

Debbie was my Manager at the bank when I first started in the early 90's. She was just wonderful to me always, took me under her wing and moved me with her when she was promoted to other bank brances. She was a leader to all of her employees, both personally and professionally. She was very proud of her family and spoke about each one of you lovingly, each and every day. We remainded friends over the years and I'm grateful to have had her in my life in so many ways. She will truly be missed by so many.

I first met Debbie in 1966 at St. Marys School. We survived the nuns and the 70s. We were classmates through high school. In more recent years I bumped into her frequently when she was attending WMU games to cheer for her nephew Jason. What a fan she was! She'll be missed; she left this world way too early. My thoughts are with her family. Rest in peace Debbie.

I first met Deb in the 1970s. She worked at the bank in Paw Paw and I worked for attorneys in town. She had that wonderful smile that was one of the things that made her special. I ran into that smile years later when we both worked in Kalamazoo and I was going through a difficult divorce. Deb took me under her wing and helped me through that rough time. Deb had a great gift which she shared with many. She will missed.

Debbie- I will truly miss you! You taught me a lot about banking and customer service. You gave me my first "real" gig and a step up in the company. You always shared so much about your family and how you loved them so and how proud they made you. Your nieces and nephews were your favorite subject! I can't count how many hours I spent listening to you talk about them all- you truly loved them! Your leaving is so sudden and I will forever remember you... Thank you for being the person that you were....my prayers and blessings to Mike and your family. Love, Maggie

Dear Babin Family: It is with deep sadness that I received the news of Deborah's transition. I was in the bank October 23 and we 'chatted' as we always did. Earth's loss is heaven's gain. I shall not forget the meeting that Debbie and Mr. Tomko had in my office last year, as it was her desire to 'welcome' Fresh Fire into the Community and offer assistance to solidifying our vision of reaching out to the youth in the community, to assist them with their educational needs after school, such as reading and writing. The meeting was rewarding and fruitful because the following year we were able to open our doors to 'Freedom School,' for the summer. The Fresh Fire Church Family shall always remember Debbie and her beautiful smile and her desire to be a servant leader to all who walked through the doors of National City Bank. She is gone in the flesh, but her spirit remains with us always. Remembering Debbie, Rev. Bobette Hampton and the Fresh Fire AME Church Family

We were stunned and so sorry to hear about Debbie's sudden death. She was such a friendly person and a great neighbor. She and Mike always had a well kept, beautiful yard where they spent many hours working. Whenever we talked as we saw each other, Debbie always bubbled with news about her family and the things taking place in their individual lives. When we moved, she continued to help our daughter and the grandkids in so many little ways. Mike and Family, we know you will miss her so much. May God grant you peace in the days ahead, and may memories of your loved one comfort you. Our prayers are with all of you. I was devastated to her about Debbies passing. I worked for her for over two years and she became a big influence in my life. I could share anything with Debbie and she was always so caring and companionate. She loved her family so much and had such pride in all of them. I remember asking her once if she would be my adopted Aunt since she was so awesome to be around and how much love she had to give. I will never forget her laugh and I will always hold a place for her in my heart. Im sending my love and prayers out to all those whose lives have been as blessed as mine for knowing her.

I only worked with Debbie for a few short times as a float teller but she was one of the branch managers that was unforgettable. She made you feel like a part of her branch and you could just tell that she was always a happy smiling person. I'd seen her a few times after at bank functions and always knew who she was. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of a great human being that I know touched many lives without even knowing it. Her family will be in my thoughts.

I know Debbie will be greatly missed. I had the pleasure of working with her back in the late 80's at First of America. She made the most beautiful quilt for my son when he was born.
