NELSON, Bert B.

Bert passed away Tuesday evening, November 4, 2008 at his home. He was born August 16, 1921 in Antigo, WI the son of the late Hugh W. and Ethel P. (Bonnell) Nelson. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Coast Guard. He was employed at Vans Airport Furniture until his retirement in 1968 and worked for Meijer on West Main.. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw. On March 8, 1941 in Green Bay, WI, Bert was united in marriage to Veretta Sis Sasman who survives. Also surviving are a daughter Carolyn (Jim) Neal of Farwell, MI; 2 grandsons, Timothy (Karen) Neal of Hartwell, GA and Patrick (Michelle) Neal of Hamilton, OH; 5 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, David of Sheboygan, WI, Richard of Phoenix, AZ, William of Grafton, WI and Kenneth (Mable) of Point Washington, WI; sister, Patty Braumgart of Fullerton, CA; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Hooker; brother, Hugh and 2 sisters, Beverly Smith and Mildred Schultz. Family will receive friends Friday 10 to 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mark Whittaker officiating. Cremation will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to In House Hospice, Kalamazoo or Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw.
