WILLSEA, Lewis F.

Gobles

Lewis passed away Monday morning, December 8, 2008 at his home. Lewis was born September 9, 1930 in Almena Twp, the son of the late William and Madge (Churchill) Willsea. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Navy. Lewis was a life member of the Paw Paw B.P.O. of Elks Lodge # 2511. He was a barber in Gobles for 55 years and was a member of the Gobles-Pine Grove Fire Department for 25 years. Lewis loved golfing and traveling. On November 15, 1956 in Paw Paw, Lewis was united in marriage to the former Arlene J. Furtenbaugh who survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters, LouAnn (Scott Figg) Beardsley of Gobles and Shelley (Dan) Brindley of Gobles, son, Todd Willsea of Gobles; 5 grandchildren, Aimee (Chuck) Garrison, Adam Breardsley, Daron (Jason) Stanford, Kevin Hawley and Lacey Willsea; 2 great grandchildren, Devin and Alexis Wells; 2 sisters, Freida M. Amos of Gobles and Laurel (Dale) Sherburn of Paw Paw; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Willsea; 4 brothers, Wendell, Claude, Maurice and James Willsea; half brother, Wesley Strong. Family will receive friends Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held Thursday 1 p.m. with Rev. Marybeth Rhine officiating. Cremation will follow services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Paw Paw Elks Lodge #2511 Crippled Childrens Fund.
