Eugene passed away Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 17, 2008 at Bronson Lakeview Community Hospital, Paw Paw. Eugene was born April 10, 1919 in Detroit, MI the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Gettz) Hoina. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Corp in North Africa, European Theater and Burma. He owned and operated his own mobile home sales in Paw Paw. Eugene was a member of the American Legion, McGowan-Johnson Post #68, Paw Paw and loved reading. Surviving are a son Eugene Hoina Jr. of Paw Paw; step-children, Duane (Kay) Willet of Charlotte, MI, Earl (Judy) Willet of Paw Paw; Elana Dykman of Battle Creek and Donald Goldberg of Apache Junction, AZ; 2 sisters, Lorraine Janus of Chicago and Laurie Arndt of Novi, MI. He was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Gomulka and a brother, Benjamin Hoina. Family will receive friends Saturday 6-8 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held Sunday 2 p.m. with military honors. Interment will be in St. Marys Cemetery, Paw Paw. Memorial contributions may be made to Maple City Veterans Memorial Park, Paw Paw.
