Ron passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at his home. He was born September 27, 1944 in Allegan, the son of Boston and Katherine (Wynn) Johnson. Ron served with pride in the Viet Nam War as Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. He was employed at the Soule Company in Kalamazoo for over 30 years, retiring in 2000.

Ron was a member of the Bloomingdale Conservation Club, V.F.W. Otsego Post #3030, was a former member of the Paw Paw Elks Lodge #2511 and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.

On May 21, 1988 in Gobles, Ron was united in marriage to the former Debra Sutton who survives. Also surviving are a brother, James (Cindy) Johnson of Mears, MI; 2 sisters, Karen (Richard) Giustra of Brunswick, ME and Ruth Ann (Harry) Rissley of Bangor; his best buddy and granddaughter, Alexandra Geldersma of Fruitport, MI; several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday (1/3) at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw, where services will be held at 1 p.m., with Rev. Mary Beth Rhine officiating.Cremation will follow the services with interment at Robinson Cemetery, Gobles, at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be directed to West Michigan Cancer Center.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Ron for many years and golfed with him too. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Ron and I always had the same last name while in high school and so often joked about that. I remember his dry humor and loved to see him at our class reunions. Will miss him for sure. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
