Lawton

While in the arms of his family, Jim passed away peacefully Monday evening, December 29, 2008 at his home. He was born November 28, 1937 in Detroit, MI the son of (the late) James E. Lee Sr. and of Rosemary (Murphy) Lee. Jim served with pride in the Headquarters Company, First Marine Division in the United States Marine Corp. Jim has always dedicated his life to his family, giving his all to them. On September 6, 1958 in Battle Creek, Jim married his High School Sweetheart, Carol L. Hansen who survives. Also surviving are, 2 sons, Michael (Tammy) Lee of Birch Run, MI and Clayton (Tonya) Lee of Lansing, MI; daughter, Becky Lynn (Karl) Driskel of Three Rivers; 5 grandchildren; mother, Rosemary Rich of Skidway, MI. Jim enjoyed time serving as Scout Master of Lawton Boy Scout Troop, member and past president of the Lawton Lions Club, former chief umpire for the Lawton Little League and a former member of the Barber Shop Quartet in Battle Creek. Jim and Carol loved to bowl together as well as square dancing. They enjoyed traveling and Carol would often join her husband in his semi truck while he worked. He also enjoyed participating in theatrical productions at Swift Lake Farms, Lawton, as well as in the Paw Paw Village Players Grape Jams. Jim touched many lives, enriching all of them. He will be sorely missed. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Friday, 2 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw with Pastor Ben Orion officiating. Private interment will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Jims family, to help defray medical costs

I was sorry to hear Jim had passed away. I absolutely enjoyed having breakfast with him at the Vineyard, and swapping stories. He was a wonderful person. Joe Robinson, ex Lawton police chief_retired. Jacksonville FL
