Jan passed away Monday afternoon, January 26, 2009 at the Kairos Dwelling, Kalamazoo. She was born November 18, 1918 in Dowagiac, MI the daughter of the late Jed and Mary Gwilt. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church, was a volunteer at LakeView Community Hospital in Paw Paw, was a member of the China Painting Guild in Kalamazoo and loved cooking, gardening, canning, sewing, and knitting. In June of 1950, Jan was united in marriage to Thomas H. Cool in South Bend, IN and preceded her in death on December 23, 1987. Surviving are 2 daughters, Susan (Steven) Militzer of Kalamazoo and Dana Cool of Paw Paw; 5 grandchildren, Matthew (Kathy) Militzer, Jenny (Dan) Powell, Erin, Nathan and Ryan Militzer; great grandchild, Kelsey Militzer; niece, Michele (Jim) Breiler of Mishawaka, IN. Family will receive friends Thursday 5 to 7 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, 11 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church, Paw Paw with Rev. Fr. Stanley Witek celebrant. Following a luncheon interment services will be held at 2 p.m. in Highland Cemetery, South Bend, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kairos Dwelling, Kalamazoo. |

It is with deepest regrets that I write this since I was not able to tell you in person how much you meant to me, how much you did for me, how much you cared for me. Thanks for being there for me, I will miss you, your son Mike
